2015 Red Snapper Season!

We here at Salty Dog Fishing Charters fish for Red Snapper in three different saltwater areas which are coincidentally managed by 3 different fisheries also known as government wildlife protection agencies for the states of Alabama, Florida and Federally managed waters. Each area has similar rules to ensure the Red Snapper species are protected from overfishing into extinction.  Our fishing charter boats can provide you with a excellent Red Snapper fishing experience. Within the state managed waters is what we like to call

Nearshore fishing” waters, which would be appropriately matched with one of our Nearshore fishing boats.  The type or fishing technique used for Red Snapper on a nearshore fishing charter would be “Bottom Fishing“.  You can RSVP your Nearshore Bottom Fishing Charter for only a small 15% deposit of our lowest $399 price for the first angler and $49 each additional angler that last for 4 hours.  If mother nature has not started calling your name to a restroom by then, feel free to extend your nearshore Red Snapper fishing Charter for $99 per hour paid directly to your captain the day of your trip. Without any further adieu, here are the official 2015 Red Snapper dates for Nearshore Fishing!

We like to call or refer to the Federally managed waters for Red Snapper and other Snapper species as “Offshore Fishing“.  Being that the area is located over 9 miles from the beaches really requires a bigger boat that has restroom facilities, indoor air conditioned cabin and many more amenities to accommodate a longer fishing trip more humane and safe.

Not trying to be bias toward offshore fishing vs nearshore fishing, however, as i’m sure you can imagine the further out you go to the less fished areas, the bigger and more abundant the Red Snapper get. Along with that old saying we have heard time and time again… “You get what you pay for”. To be fair, Triggerfish are legal to catch on a Nearshore fishing charter (Alabama state managed waters) where they are restricted in Offshore Fishing during these dates. Our offshore fishing vessel the “Salty Dog” has two detroit diesel engines to power you out to the best kept hidden Bottom Fishing spots that make you say “Holy Red Snapper Fishman”!

Federal Red Snapper Fishing Season Gulf of Mexico
